Cause of death in Zim

I notice that most people still do not like to say what the cause of death is in Zim. We all know the look of an HIV patient and what happens in the period leading to death, but still we are told about cancers, malaria, typhoid, cholera, headaches, poisoning, etc. Anything but the truth. When I die, I like whoever tell people to clearly say HIV was a big factor in my death and tell those listening how I got it and how it can be avoided. Thus especially if I do not reach 35.

I have just come back from Zim and its as if nothing has changed.

The difficult financial month, January

We are in January. The resolutions have already failed. Last month's earnings have already been spent and there is not enough food in the houses. The children look unfed. The smiles are gone. The parents are looking forward to month end. The sex worker rates have been lowered because of competition.

Anywhere else business for sex workers would be at a minimum, but here, in Southern Africa sex workers are keeping an eye on the month end too. Those men who have no food at home, whose wives are worried about what to feed the children, can screw on credit. When they eventually earn, the sex workers will earn too. The practice keeps the trade going even in hard financial times.

However, fewer practitioners can afford condoms. Wives are at higher risk during January.

If you are living with HIV, a silly way of saying you have HIV, then its good you have seen Christmas 2011. Many came close but failed to see Christmas, like my friend who died on Tuesday 20th December in Zimbabwe. She left a 12 year old child behind. The dad had already died four years ago of the same. It was him who brought HIV into the home.

If you are free of HIV, note that a larger number of people catch it over Christmas than at any other time. This is more so for married women whose husband come home (rural home) having been in towns where they work and live without their wives. What life-changing gift are you getting from your husband this Christmas?

Qaddaffi dead and rightly so.

I hate mass murderers a lot more than I hate dictators, and Qaddafi was both of these. He stole Libyan wealth to give it to Africans elsewhere just in case he needed to free and they would provide a home for him. He stashed billions in Zimbabwe and South Africa. He promised the earth to black soldiers of fortune who became snipers from rooftops against Libyan people. In his 42 years he stashed many Libyan bodies in various mass graves all over the country and thought nothing of it. He taught his progeny to behave in a manner outside the human range, killing, raping and worse.

He called his own RATS for daring to ask for democracy and fairness. When they captured him, he offered their own national wealth as a bribe to spare his miserable life. He was offering to bribe them with money that did not belong to him.

I hope Mugabe returns to Libya what Qaddafi gave him to hold onto in case he, Qaddafi, makes to Zimbabwe. At Qaddafi's death, the rapes, the murders, the mass burials the looting, the impromptu executions, the tortures, etc, should stop. Viva NTC. You inspired all countries with dictators. Do us proud with your post Qaddafi unity of purpose.

South Africa

I visited South Africa recently to see my old friends. The six countries most infected with HIV are all black and four are in Africa. Is this coincidence or design? Are blacks more prone to HIV than any other race or are there other factors? Why is nobody asking the question?

In South Africa sex is more wanton than any other place I have been and the rate of HIV increase is also highest. Even Zuma, the sexual teenager of South Africa, who doubles up as president, complete with four wives and a number of concubines, has had an HIV test. Thanks to washing with warm water every after sex, (his own invention against infection) he is negative.

Meantime, South Africans continue to be infected, continue to carry out corrective rapes on lesbians, continue to rape babies to cure AIDS, and so on, while Zuma continues to wash his penis in warm water after sex with each of his women.

In Zimbabwe two groups are most affected, the very poor women and the very rich men who can afford them. The third group is not discussed. These are the wives of the rich men who get HIV from their husbands after the husbands have been to play.

I tried to talk to a group of women about HPV infections from oral sex and all I got were giggles. One woman said oral sex is for whites and so the HPV will not affect blacks anytime soon.

I met up with a group of men wanting to hear about what is good sex for women. When I spoke about the need for the vagina to be wet before penis insertion, one man publicly informed us that African women do not require foreplay to get wet. They are always too wet and need to get drier instead. Compared to American women he had been with, there was never a need for foreplay in Africa. So dry sex continues and tiny cracks in the vagina make for easy infection.

Mass Condomisation and Mass circumcision have not had the desired effect. The condom is only used the first few times.

30000 thugs ready in Zimbabwe

I was in Zimbabwe in January and February. ZaNU PF was recruiting fast in preparation for possible elections this year. When I left, a well placed official (who I could name) informed me that just over 30000 youths had been recruited to campaign for the party. These are paid USD 5 or USD 6 per day depending or rank.

Now I hear the elections are not going to happen this year and the recruits are idle. The daily cost to ZANU PF is too high so they are going to get these thugs to join the army and stay paid by the state till elections. After that many will be demobed since the army would be too big to stay at those numbers.

Mugabe needs to die in office.

Gaddafi needs to die in office too and the race is on to see who dies first between them.

We are in 2011

Mugabe and myself are both in 2011, ailing but alive. We both have the potential to kill, me through sex, and him, through political greed. He will kill thousands during the 2011 elections.

I no longer need the money so I will not rejoin the sex industry.

We both live off the proceeds of death and we will leave behind blood money for our families to inherit. Mugabe's family will already know that thousands have died for them to have the houses in Malaysia, in Chelsea, in Jersey, and where-ever else. My family will inherit a house in Slough, a House in Windhoek, a House in Cape Town and a house in Walvis bay. They will not have any clue how many people died so they can be rich.

Men would have paid anything to find ways of fleeing from Mugabe's killers. in 2011 many young MUgabe men are going to use rape to campaign for a Mugabe win. The raped and the rapists are going to be HIV positive by the end of elections. I started with a rape too. Then men paid me to get HiV from me and pass it to their wives. I can still kill now. Yet those who get raped are seen as the lucky ones in Mugabe's Zimbabwe. For the nation the lucky ones are those who get murdered.

Mugabe killed with sticks, poisons, guns and torture tools in a dramatic fashion. Newspapers made money reporting on the case. Human rights personnel held meetings and made demands. Priests call it an act of brutality at funerals.

I killed with my vagina, my gentle vagina, and a bit of a pyramid and networking. I did not shout any party slogans, I did not make any broadcasts, I did not threaten anyone. Simply accepted money and dropped my knickers and let the death occur.

A man interacted with my vagina then went and interacted with his wife and with other women, who in turn interacted with other men and so created a network of death. Human rights groups have not discussed the case, newspapers are not interested. Priests even call the deaths God's will when they conduct funerals.

Mugabe has caused the creation of many orphans and we all know about it. I created many orphans and nobody knows about it, but me and the men that paid for the honour.

Is it possible to make 2011 the year of the truth for killers and orphan makers. Are you going to make your penis a tool of pleasure for your wife instead of a tool of death for her? Are you going to make your penis the hand that created your child and not the hand that created an orphan from your child? Are you going to satisfy your wife sexually before you turn to sex workers and sexual socialists in your village?

Does anyone have anything I can smile about today? Any good news out there involving humans? All calls from Zimbabwe are carriers of bad news.
The government is bad
The harvest is bad and there will be widespread food shortages
Sex work is increasing
Poverty in rural areas is increasing
Zimabweans are going to be murdered in South Africa after football.

Am I the only one who feels envelopped with depression about the human state in Southern Africa? This Monday I will go to Vic Falls to cheer myself up, but I know I will be compelled to go and look at the vast number of new graves in such a small town, knowing they are HIV graves and many orphans are left behind.

My old school friend

I got a message from Zimbabwe that my old school friend died in her sleep last Tuesday morning. She was HIV positive. Her older and only sister died of it last year 2009. Her first born brother is seriously ill with it. He has two wives who both are positive. Her other brother was moved from Harare last month to Masvingo rural area (where they come from ) so he can die at home and save on body transportation costs. Their mother is the most wearisome woman in the whole of Africa. I rung her on a neighbour's mobile phone and she cried to me the whole time. She has 11 grand children of which three are known to be HIV positive. They are the lucky ones as they will die much sooner. The others will have a longer but much more misreable orphaned life. Some of them will get HIV (when they are much older) from engaging in sex work or sleeping with sex workers without condoms.

I sent my friend's mother a few USD, more to make myself feel better, than to improve her situation, which is now beyond what money can do.

My friend married at 18 and was very excited about it. Her husband turned out to be a womaniser and a violent man. She had many beatings and an infection. Now 12 years later she is gone. The husband died 4 years ago. For two years after he died, my friend looked after her three children by getting what she could from men. Their wives will be dead women walking as we speak.

The mothers and children we leave behind suffer a lot more than we have suffered from this disease, yet what can anyone do about it? The whole family will be gone before the year is out. Access to ARVs in Zimbabwe is not easy. In any case most men refuse to accept that they are HIV positive unless they can convince their lot that the wife is to blame. HIV in Zimbabwe is spread by men and that is not going to change anytime soon.

They will attack in South Africa. Make no mistake about it. They attacked in Europe, USA, and elsewhere so history says they will attack in South Africa. It is a matter of honour now. Mohammed's name needs to be protected against freedom of speech.

While I think it is very poor thinking to attack other people's religions other that to question their integrity, I also think religious people should set an example on behaviour and respect for human life. For a group that thinks it is bona fide, to go and bomb a location where there is a high concentration of humans, knowing many people will die, is deplorable.

A religious person should be in the business of forgiveness and tolerange as well as education. I will listen to any religious person who practices the teachings of his/her religion but I have no real time for anybody who tells me to accept what enforcements he wants to put on me or else he kills me.

But it matters not what I say or think. The fact is they will attack in South Africa, and soon after that, the South Africans will attack foreigners in the new Xeno. The two attacking groups will both feel justified and will think it a bit harsh to be arrested.

Of all the weapons sold to Zimbabwe to be used to kill ordinary citizens; of all the contaminated milk sold to Adfrican mothers to be used to unwittingly kill their babies; Of all the support offered to dictators like Mugabe; Of all the fake medicines sold in Zimbabwe in 2007/8/9 and bought by sick people with their last few dollars; I read about China's own problems with mining and earthquakes and marvelled at how China actually worries about its own citizens but does not care a hoot about anyone else, especially in Africa.

This earthquake made me believe China has people (humans ) in it. This causes me confusion. Does China really feel that its own are more human than others? Is it racism or fascism causing China to treat us with total contempt while showing due compassion to its own citizens?

I feel sorry for the victims of disaters in China just like I feel sorry for those in Haiti, Chile and other places in the far East. I feel just as sorry for Mugabe's victims and the victims of Xenophobia in South Africa. Compassion should not discriminate to the point where I try to rescue Zimbabweans in distress but try to enhance ditress in China.

The Chinese should stop their evil deeds in Africa.

Happy New Year 2010

Very close to 2010 now. Last January I would have taken bets on not reaching this point in my life. Its been a long slog but thanks to my friends and my supportive boyfriend, himself positive, I made it. I feel good. I am not sick. I am not weak. I am not sad. I walk about and look good. But my mind is always thinking about this condition. One day it will take me by surprise and disable me.

This time last year the churches in Zimbabwe were publicly praying for Mugabe's death. This time last year it looked like Zimbabwe was in the grip of Cholera and HIV and the whole country was weak and on its death bed. Today Zimbabwe is breathing again and sometimes taking a walk outside. Mugabe is still alive. Younger leaders are pretending to rule with him.

I am alive too and I can go out and smell the sea and walk on the beach in the blazing sun.

For now I try to be positive. Happy New Year to all of you. See you in 2010.

Promiscuity in Zimbabwe

I was in Zimbabwe for nearly two weeks and got back on Friday 4th Sept. There is a much higher incidence of men and women having affairs and socially unauthorised sex. In the absence of any social rules, post recession, many see sex as an easy industry to join and to take their chances. What I also noticed in the street pilling rubbish is the many packets of condoms left on the ground. This is a good sign that people are indeed buying condoms, and hopefully using them when they need to.

The message about one faithful sex partner seems now to be a far fetched adea to many.

Circucision kills.

The story of South African boys killed by circucision advocates is sad but it is one that is true to how people like to avoid facts and figures and and simple solutions, in favour od silliness and propaganda. Why would a normal caring parent send his/her little teenage boy to a camp knowing his penis will be interferred with by a chap with no formal training?
Parent authorised child abuse of this kind should really see both the circumsiser and the parent in court facing a long jail term. Parents should be a little more responsible and the government should be harsh on those who shouw a disregard for their children's safety.

The Pope is a pratt and I do wish he would just refrain from commenting on matters sexual, of which he knows very little unless he has been experimenting with his bishops or fiddling with his congregation as has been shown countless times within the catholic priesthood, but in the case of condoms he was right about one thing. AIDS is not caused by failure to use condoms. AIDS is caused by promiscuity and the solution to that is not condoms, but change of attitude. Research can do whatever reserach wants to do, but without these basc truths, research is wasting its time. Condoms give false security and in Africa condoms simply do not prevent AIDS because sexual practices are different from those in other places.

Condoms are not the best prevention method against HIV infection. faithfulness to one's spouse or partner is.

Condoms do burst and expose the users.

Condoms in Africa are not a financial priority. Governments, such as that of Zimbabwe give too few per week, leaving people exposed.

Condoms can be manufactured with faults.

Condoms are not made available in remote places where they are needed most.

Condoms are for the rich but are more needed by the poor whom authorities totally ignore.

African men, and black men in general simply hate condoms and would rather have sex without. When I was working, the highest incidents of resistance to condoms was always among black men, whether in Africa, Europe or America. Other races have no real problems with condoms.

The female condom is much better but many women in Africa wash and reuse it meaning their multiple male partners can be infected while the woman herself is safer. I like that idea myself. I really do not mind promiscuous men being infected. They deserve it. Just that it does not apply to married women whose husbands are promiscuous, and so the women are not protected.

Research is done on current attitudes and the pope was talking about ideas for social engineering and how best to control sex within communities. Those who responded angrily to his comments are looking at how to protect currently living people from HIV infection, a clearly difficult task. In my view, HIV is one of those infections which you do not get if you do not want it, unless you are a female in Africa, in which case you will almost definitely get it. HIV is spread by men in Africa. The same men who hate condoms. The pope is saying to people, "Adopt a different attitude."

Why only Canada?

Canada is taking a lead in arresting men who have unprotected sex while they are HIV positive. It is stange to hear of a country that actually discourages that practice. If Zimbabwe, Botswana, Swaziland, South Africa, Haiti, Zambia, etc were to start arresting people for that kind of thing, there would be more people in jails than out of them. I am sure someone will soon be pulling out the race card against Canadian police. Where we come from (Zimbabwe) condoms are seen as spoilers and no woman can ask a man to wear one without risking a violent attack from him. Women are not yet human in Zimbabwe and I really feel sorry for foreigners who have relations with Zimbo men and hope that the men actually care about them. If you are not Zimbo, have a full sexual screening with a Zimbo man before you decide to have sex with him. In fact the same applies to any man from the SADC region. Their view of women is the same throughout. They will never accept responsibility for your sexual welfare. You have to do that for yourself.

She died yesterday

She is exactly 21 days older than me. At 21married her boyfriend of 4 years. They have 2 children, both boys and both healthy, but they lost one, who lived only for two weeks born when both parents were sick already. She told me her tale in 2005 when I was in Zimbabwe, and I did what I could to get her tested. I remember the wait for results. I stayed with her and kept telling her I was positive myself but I was not sick. She was sick. Her husband was sick but had refused to come for a test, the 'small house' (term used in Zimbabwe for concubine) was sick.

She never got to get ARVs. Zimbabwe prefers the sick to die, instead of wasting money earmarked for politicians to loot,on medicines for the ctizens. Her husband, now too weak to have sex with anyone, is being cared for by his mother. It was him who infected his wife, himself having had it from the small house and possibly others. There is othing more evil than a man and I hate men with a passion. There are times when I really have the urge to kill the lot of them.

The two boys will be orphaned soon. Their grandmother has no resources to look after them, so unless a do-gooder steps in, they are condemned to a life of abject poverty and will live at the mercy of those whose parents have been more careful. They are lucky to be boys because they have a much higher choice of whether they want to get HIV or not. Girls have little choice.

I am not angry, I just feel like the end is nigh for the human race. It interests me how a whole nation can ignore a death rate of over 4000 per week since 2001, when the cause of death is something totally avoidable. That is 8 years of 4000 per week and nobody bothers to see it as a national catastrophe, ot even employers, community leaders, church leaders, or anyone of renoun. it is a unique case of national self negligence.

Cholera has been treated the same way. The men of Zimbabwe are condemned to having an affinity for diseases and death. Totally avoidable diseases are just left to affect the wives and children. Nobody cares.

She will be buried today in a cheap coffin made by the other cheap men in her locale. Well wishers have sent in donations of cash in Rand. The husband is too weak to count it. He will have been told that his wife has died, he knows he infected her but he does not accept responsibility for her death. The last time I spoke to him, August 2008, he said, "If Vongai had been more sexual, I would not have needed to go out of the home." In other words, the fault was with Vongai, and for that she died yesterday, and for the same reason he will die soon. The two boys will be orphaned.

Sex work will continue to increase

The one industry that will always be positively growing in Africa is Sex work. As long as wives refuse to devote to the sexual needs of their husbands and the husbands refuse to discuss the problem in the homes, sex workers will get more business.
I was talking to a Zimbabwean woman yesterday and she was saying she does not know why her husband has been seeing another woman who is even older that she is. She put it down to Mufuhwira (Obedience whichcraft administered on a man by a woman). The truth of the matter usually is on disatisfaction with sex with the wife. I asked her if she knew what her husband likes sexually. She thought he liked the same as any other man which does not say much for her or him.
I know that Zimbabwean men would rather just go to a sex worker than discuss any improvements with their wives. It is interesting to note that the majority of clients are married. It is unusual to get a single man visiting a sex worker.

The Government of National unity suggested to start on 11 February 2009 will bring a new era of sex work. If it works, more and more people will become affluent again but the majority will remain poor for years to come. Sex work will be a real option and the number of sex workers will increase. In Soth Africa the economy will deteriorate and sex work will insrease.

The interesting thing is there is no social class religious class or group immune to being clients for sex workers. Its a male thing. Most married men would like to try sex workers and once tried, we seem to be addictive to them. We are doing well considering we do not even advertise and we are rather dangerous to health.

Once a man has an erection in the presence of a sex worker, his health, education, responsibility, social standing, integrity, money, etc becomes totally irrelevant. If nobody reminds him to wear a condom, he would remember after the sex when panic sets in. We make money because men's brains are weaker than their penises.

I don't know why I should think about Zimbabwe but my mind wants to visit the hell hole. I probably will drive up there. It takes around 20 hours to get there and when I get there I always have the same sinking feeling. Everything is bad in Zimbabwe. Maybe I will wait till the cholera is exported back to the UK where Mugabe says it came from as a form of sabotage.

Our African leaders are so childish at all times.

I just had to stay awake till midnight. In 15 minutes, I will go out and walk on the beach here in the lovely town of Walvis Bay. I am alive and well. 2008 has seen many of the people I know die around me, many of them younger than me and have had HIV for less time than me. Yet I am alive and not sick.

However I know that tonight many African wives will have been infected with the virus by their husbands. That is a fact nobody can change. A certain number get it each day in Southern Africa where the most dangerous thing a woman can do is to get married.

Happy 2009. A condom a day makes life more fun.

I wish all HIV Carriers and AIDS patients and their carers, researchers, and all those on earth advocating compulsory testing for all living humans followed by the issue of cards, Red for HIV positive, and Green for negative, a very merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

I sincerely hope that you will appreciate that compulsory mass testing would remove the stigma completely, specially in Southern and Central Africa where it would be clearly shown that those posaitive are in the majority and stigmatising them is not sustainable.

I also hope that governments will see that mass testing is the best way to ensure that those negative can choose negatives for sex and those positive can also be accepted by fellow positives for sex and it would be much easier to educate the negatives to stay negative and to monitor acceptance of the message. Fewer children would be made orphans like I was, and positive reduction of infection rates would me measurable.

Clever humans like Bill Clinton, himself a keen sexual experimenter of some international renoun, agrees with me on this one. He is by far my model man.

Another Christmas

I know there are still two days to go but the amazing thing is I have survived to see another Christmas and might even see my birthday after the New Year.

I feel good and healthy. I look good. I am eating well and ave not had Cholera even when I went there recently.

However, Christmas is the time when in Africa many men travel to their rural homes from towns. There they take time to have sex with whatever woman they can isolate long enough to have sex with. Condoms are hardly ever used. Pregnancies are common, and so are STI's By January 15, many of you in Southern Africa will be looking death in the eye.

You should have your own condoms by now stashed away and carrying some in your handbag just in case. Men have no idea where to get them. Carry you own.

Religion and Gayness

The Gay Christian movement is a funny lot. Is it rocket Science to note that you cannot have GAY and Christian in the same sentence? This earth is how it is because people mix what should not be mixed. If you are a Christian, then you are not gay, and vice versa. If you are a Christian you should abide by a certain code. Now I know that when I was working I was paid by many Catholic and other priests for sex, contrary to their beliefs, but those who paid me did so in secret knowing that they were wrong. Not so with the Gay Christians, They actually go round saying they are right.

The Christian Liars Movement
The Christian Murderers Movement
The Christian Rapists Movement.
Etc.

I do not think we should go round abusing other people’s groups in such a manner. If you do not believe in Christianity, Islam, or Buddhism, there is no need to create a satirised group about it just so you get attention.
Christianity and Islam exclude homosexuals from their congregations, and Islam seeks to reduce the actual number of homosexuals from in or near to their communities for fear of the men being asked out to tea. Why then would a gay person want to create a grouping following that?

I heard that when President Mugabe was in prison a long time ago he lost two things very dear to him. He lost his child through illness, and he lost half of his penis through ambutation after having an STI for too long without treatment. A little Girl, Jane

I am upset. A little girl I have known for three and half years died yesterday. She was nearly 7 years old and HIV positive. She has had the most miserable life and has suffered untold pain sometimes requiring total nursing which was provided by a family with their own four children. This means this family and especially the four children, have had to suffer with the little girl and will greive in her death.

There will be the usual search of who caused her death through witchcraft and other things, but we know that it was the little girl's daddy who willed that his daughter should have such a life. It was daddy, and now daddy is long gone along with mummy. It was daddy.

There is no escaping it.

My involvement in her life probably added time to her misery. But at the time I was sure life was better than death. For little children born positive and in poverty, death seems to me a much better option than life. But we still will not let them go.

Hope daddy is happy now, wherever he is. I keep picturing that family happy and thriving had daddy been faithful to mummy. Mummy recieved the virus without a protest or scream. It was her marital duty to do so.

They are all just pictures in my head now. Jane is really gone.

Olympics

Europeans and other races are obsessed with the vagina as well, but they talk more and screw less. Also the price they are willing to pay is a lot lower than the black man's price. That is not to say sex work earns you less money in Europe Middle East or Americas, No, The men just do not kill themselves in the process. They see sex as recreation and make you work a lot more for your money.

In Africa the emphasis is on the insertion and a sex worker is just a mobile vagina and nothing lest. The fact that avove it is a body with a head and mouth, just means he can talk to the vagina through these other things and be able to quickly penetrate. Before he penetrates, to him its a matter of life and death and he would rather die than miss the chance to pentrate this ready vagina.

In 2005 a relation of mine was very happy to show off his new acquisition to me when I visited Zimbabwe. He had got rid of his wife and five children, accusing her of being a witch in 1999, and now he was married to a new wife aged 26. He is 64. The Zimdollar continued to fall and now teachers are not as affluent as they used to be.

I was saddened to receive a phonecall yesterday stating that his new wife, himself, and one of the two children they have had since, are seriously ill. He is asking for help with ARVs. He is the same man who once told me to go and commit suicide because "You bring shame to the family by your work, just think what happens if you become HIV positive." I was alread positive then but he did not know, or he might have killed me himself.

Men are the biggest threat to Zimbabwean civilization and survival.

His ex-wife now works in Australia and has educated her five children well. I do not think they will be going to their dad's funeral.

Today is a special day to me. It was on a Thursday, July 30, 1998 that I lost my life, my virginity, my future, and all that I stood for. I had lost the last of my parents three months before that. I had had to stop my education as well. My siblings and I were living in the rapist and his wife’s house at the time. I am the oldest and being female in a house with men who are not nuclear family in Zimbabwe is a serious threat to self when it comes to rape. There are many house girls who regularly are raped by the man of the house and get extra cash in return from him, without his wife knowing.
I remember the day very clearly, especially the fact that I had nobody to turn to after the rape. His wife was already ill and in need of a certain level of care, having been infected by the same man.

Blackmail

On 11/03/2008, I posted an intention to ask all former clients whose names I have in my diaries to contribute to the cost of looking after children with HIV or orphaned children in Zimbabwe or risk their names being published on the Internet. I thought many readers would appreciate that these men have no sense of loyalty or confidentiality since they were mostly married but had no problems visiting me for sex behind their wives backs, and paying me money obviously belonging to the family, for personal gratification, which they could have easily got from their wives free of any cost to the family. I was wrong. I have been accused of blackmailing people and deserving a prison sentence. I also got told that nobody would believe me and everyone would see it as just revenge for something I hold against the men whose names are published. Jo, the first man to offer to pay, pointed out that the list would not be fair since some people who may seem to be refusing to pay may well be dead. In that case the distress caused by the list would be untold.

At that point I relented. I will burn the diaries so that neither myself nor anyone finding them may not be tempted to use them in this manner in the future. The money to look after the children just has to be raised in some other manner. I think that it is the responsibility of all those alive to feed the children whose parents have died and left them too young to feed themselves. I was drawn into sex work exactly in this manner and now the cycle has gone full circle. I was added to the pool of those that are part and parcel of the problem.

The number of sex workers in Southern Africa and specifically Zimbabwe, is increasing because of hardships. A young girl who finds that she has a vagina that can earn her a good meal each day will not hasitate to use it. men with money are men with access to many such girls whom they share between themselves and condomlessly. Its not long before that young girl is infected and is infecting others accordingly.

Feed the orphans and let them be children for a while longer, and hopefully choose real men they can be in trusting relationships with. As soon as I found I was HIV positive, I removed my womb so I could never have children of my own to leave as orphans for someone else to feed.

Oral sex with a condom

Spoke to a group of girls yesterday about protection. Most say they have oral sex without a condom, then slip the condom onto the man for vaginal sex. I have done this myself many times, even after I knew I was HIV positive. Fluids from a man start flowing the moment he gets excited There will be lube, precum and finally semen. These all carry HIV and whether one takes it orally or vaginally is really not important. The point is to avoid HIV.

So how practical is oral sex with a condom. I do not think many men would like it. So better not to start it in the first place, if a condom is not favoured.

Also remember, once a man is erect he has no brain power till he ejaculates. Don't expect him to think.

Will I reach 30?

Zimbabwe army using rape as campaign tool

The Zim army is using rape as a campaign tool in many areas. Many women suspected of being married or related to opposition members are invariably raped.

Now consider that 57% of the army personnel are HIV positive. Also consider that when they rape a woman, they gang rape, usually more than five men at a time, and usually publicly so all can see and be afraid. Nobody will ever be arrested for this because anything political is not a crime in Zimbabwe while ZANU PF is in power.

Israel as a country and Fascism

I have been sitting here wondering why Israel is such a hugely fascist country. I mean the way they hate Palestinians and blacks is just amazing. Its just like Nazis used to hate the Jews. In my Country, Zimbabwe, Israel works closely with Mugabe and has done so since 2000 when democratic awareness started. Israel responded by selling sophisticated riot control water cannons to Mugabe, knowing what they would be used for.
It was Israel that provided a video used to attempt to convict Morgan Tsvangirai on made up treason charges.

As if that was not enough, they provided, together with China, sophisticated Internet and facsimile monitoring equipment to track messages between citizens for the purpose of secret murders and beatings.

Now during the election, Israel assisted Mugabe to rig election. Why does Israel hate us, blacks, so much? What have we ever done to them? You woud think that a country made up of former victims of fascism would set an example to the rest of the world on how to behave. Some Hitler really rubbed off onto them. Their friend Mugabe even boasts of being a Hitler, but they do not see anything wrong in that.

Love and loyalty not together for black men.

For most women I have met, when they love, they become loyal. For all men I have had a chance to talk to, love is one thing and loyalty is completely another. Loyalty for men is not at all difficult to get rid of. I was once in a restaurant with a married man I knew and we were discussing why men have difficulty with loyalty to their wives. He made pronouncements about how loyal he was to his wife. After listening I asked if he would say NO if I offered him sex after the meal. His answer was, “Well normally I would say no, but you are my friend and my wife’s friend, so I would feel obliged to accept as loyalty to a friend.” We heard Jacob Zuma in court saying it is not allowed for a true Zulu man to see an aroused woman and do nothing about her plight. This implies that the whole Zulu nation has no idea about loyalty to one’s spouse.

It must also mean the Zulu women expect to any man they meet to give them sex on first evidence of need. But no, the men expect themselves to be free to deal with women’s arousal states, but the women are not allowed the same freedom.

In Namibia the equation is different. A husband returning from a long trip does not go directly home. He arrives at a home nearby and sends a little child to go and inform his wife that he is back. This is done in order to allow time for any other man who might have been pleasuring his wife to leave before the husband arrives. I like that idea. In Zimbabwe the husband, on suspecting that his wife might have a lover, would creep in to try to catch him. If he did catch them at it, he would seek to divorce his wife and accept a fine from the man. This is despite the fact that he (the husband) might well have a number of girlfriends himself at the time he catches his wife with one boyfriend.

The attitude of confused loyalty, is one factor which has helped HIV to spread fast. In Zimbabwe the leader, Robert Mugabe set an example by having illicit sex with Grace while she was married to another man and he to another woman. The vice president’s husband, Solomon was said by his wife to be having affairs. Gideon Gono the Reserve bank chief is known to have affairs,. Other important politicians have affairs that are known by the public. These are mostly men. There is disapproval when a prominent woman has affairs. In South Africa, Zuma espoused the virtues of a Zulu man regarding sex, seeing himself as the essence of virility when talking under oath. He was talking for the black man. The back man’s whole persona, is symbolised by his penis and its functions. A black man will love his wife to bits, but will go where his penis leads him. The other woman needs it just as much. Loyalty to his race is of higher value than loyalty to his wife. The wives know it.

I have most of this information in my electronic diary and it would be a matter of pasting into a wordprocessor and publishing the list with dates.

I have known him (Brian) for some years and he was a good man. He left Zimbabwe for the greener pastures of South Africa and worked as a driver, a factory worker, and at one time a burgler and rober. He visited Botswana, and Swaziland.

When the going was good he had a live-in girl for his sexual needs. When the going was no so good he just had sex workers when he could afford. This is the thing. All women like to exchange money for sex. Just that those who do not work as sex workers do not get paid directly. The want a man when he has money and they leave him when he has no money. Just like us.

He married a South African girl and has a baby by her, an HIV positive baby. When she found out he was HIV positive, she left him and married another man who is now also HIV positive from having sex with her. The baby will hopefully die before its mother and the new husband die.

I travelled to Zimbabwe for his funeral when I heard. I got there to find his body was delayed at Beit Bridge crossing point. Mugabe's government, realising the business potenial of receiving bodies of citizens who die outside the country has devised a method of earning forex from the trade. USD180 is the fee for looking at the dead man's passport and accepting that he is Zimbabwean. The guy who signs the papers on behalf of the government wants back handers of Rand 400. He is a magistrate of the Republic of Zimbabwe at Beit Bridge. I wonder if Mugabe gets a cut from that trade.

I never had sex with Brian whom I saw as my big brother. He died at 33 years of age. He was the sole bread winner for his sister and mother in Zimbabwe. As we were listening to the farewell speeches, the price of goods in Zimbabwe doubled during the period it took to deliver the speechs.

Number of people dying of HIV/AIDS

You do not realise how many people are dying from AIDS till you have HIV yourself and you start befriending others who have. Then you start attending their funerals.

It is frightening. Each time I get back from one funeral I wonder if I am next. At one time I even wrote down what I would like my funeral to be like.

I have heard of people who have a NEAR DEATH EXPERIENCE. I think I have had one since I was diagnosed.

I got HIV because a highly educated black man, a graduate, believed he could cure himself by raping a virgin. He got that belief from a SANGOMA, (witch doctor to uninformed foreigners)who is most likely not at all educated. Is education wasted on blacks then?

Black leaders are a total failure in most cases. I like the Namibian leadership though. They manage democracy better than any other black country there is apart from Botswana maybe. That is why I spend time here more than anywhere else now.

I am responding to your article about Zimbabwe. I am not as educated as you are nor will I have the chance to make progress, since I am also HIV positive. I have written many articles about ARVs. My view is that they make the situation a lot worse. You see, the government, the media, the medical profession and indeed the public, must all fight for compulsory testing and issue of cards. Red card for positive and green card for negative, followed by three monthly testing for all green card holders.

ARVs are useless unless the whole nation starts working together to change attitudes about the spread of HIV. An invigorated male (ARV) will start again to have unprotected sex, because he has the energy to do so. His attitude is the same and there is nothing to stop him. HIV is spread by men in Zimbabwe and its them who need to know that there is a system in place which can categorically determine that they had HIV before the wife did. A three monthly test will pick that up. It will also make people think about HIV more.

If this was Ebola, we would all be having tests. What is the deal with HIV? Its killing up to 4000 per week each week. Look at the cemeteries and family grave yards. What nation allows that to happen? I was a sex worker in Zimbabwe, South Africa, Zambia, Namibia, UK, USA, Australia. At times I have had more than 15 men per day. You can not begin to calculate how many men I have had sex with and at least 20% or so refused to use condoms. Imagine the figures when I found I was HIV positive.

Now imagine it if I had had a compulsory test at adulthood and carried a red card. All a man had to ask for is my card and then decide whether to have sex with me or not.

I am sure you understand what I am getting at and you know I am right. Before that can happen, all talk of ARVs or any other medicines, traditional or not, is a total waste of time, and the graves will continue to increase.

You work in the media, you can help formulate a sensible approach to HIV. Bill Clinton agrees with me, Ask him is you do not believe me. Governments must regulate sex in all its forms. Mbeki was criticised for refusing to intervene with ARVs, I have always thought he was right. Either regulate and treat or do nothing. Those are the only two options and he chose the cheaper. I am on ARVs myself but I pay for them myself. I have a very healthy bank account and an income from property I bought while working.

The tax payer should not foot the pleasure bill for someone who is likely to keep having sex with no protection. That is not good national investment.

Merry Christmas!!! Happy New year!!!. For me it will be good to see 2008. I always believed I would be dead before 2008. I am healthy and strong so if I do not get run over before then, or have another kind of accident, I should see 2008 and it will be a happy New Year for me. I hope you are happy as well.

I might travel to Zimbabwe at some point. If I do, I will go by road. I will stretch the journey to a week. I know a lot of good people in Botswana so its good to call on them and catch up.

Can a man be weaned off sex workers?

Once a married man visits an experienced sex worker, he will have to visit again, and again and again. Sex is not just a matter of inserting a penis into a vagina and shafling about for a minute or two like he does at home with his wife. Once a man pays, he is led into an experience lasting a full half hour or an hour depending on what he paid for. The idea is to make sure that when he leaves the sex worker, his mind cannot settle till he comes back for more. Its his mind, not his penis, that the sex worker works on.

It is common to find a client falling in love with you and developing and obsession about it. A good sex worker usually has several men, maybe ten or more, begging her to marry them at any time. Their minds are convinced that she is the right girl for them for a wife. They do not appreciate that she is just doing her job.

There are clients who pass by a sex worker once or twice per week every week over a long period of time yet they are married and go back to the wife and live seemingly happily. Sex work will always be a booming business as long as the wives remain lazy.

It is not possible to wean off a man who has visited a good sex worker at least once.

My greatest fear now

Since I discovered I had HIV, I have always wondered if I will see my 30th birthday. Most people in Zimbabwe die between 30 and 40. So maybe I have a chance. The one thing I fear is to lose weight to a point where I look really bad before I die. I have seen some of my friends struggle and I do not want to be like that. I am sure that when the time comes there will be apoint when I will have to do something.

My chance of reaching 30 is high now.

Have I ever betrayed confidentiality?

Yes I have but only in extreme circumstances. Sex workers do not betray clients in normal circumstances. I remember a sex worker called Monica who betrayed President Clinton. In her shoes I would not have done that. There is more money in silence. The difference between priests and sex workers is that sex workers are paid for their silence. You give a service, you get paid and you forget about it completely. It is very bad for business to talk about your clients’ names.

There is no merit in bringing a prominent person down. People just look down on you for nothing. Remember the prostitute who:

Where are they now. Even their sources of income could stop because they went public. Experienced sex workers keep their mouths shut till death. To get more money you pick the phone up, and call the client and tell him so and so was asking questions but I know what to say. Within a few hours the client will turn up with more money and no time for sex. I will get regular calls and regular money for nothing for a few weeks till the crisis boils over. After that I might get one large payment, a holiday or both. It is worth keeping silent both for the client and his wife.

I betrayed a man who beat me up. I hired two men to beat him up and ask him to pay. His wife was told why.

99% of men who go to sex workers are married. I hardly ever saw single men in 8 years

They want a bit of praise for the one thing a man should be able to do. From what I hear from these men, wives do not peptalk their husbands during sex. The man does not know whether he is good or bad. Sex workers share ideas and we do pep talk clients, even some really rubbish ones. It raises their estimates of themselves.

[2] Is it possible for a man to seek the same prostitute several times.

Yes if you live in the same area for long enough, you will have certain men visit several times and they even start to express love to you. I had a few begging me to marry them. They do not understand that it is your job to have sex with them. They think you are doing it because you love them. You play along because they pay more that way. Men are not sexually very bright.

[3] What percentage of men do use condoms?

Most non-black men have no problems with condoms. Its just black men whether they are in Europe or Africa. They find condoms intimidating and try not to use them. I would estimate at maybe 15% of black men will offer you more money to avoid using a condom. They also tend to be men who overrate their sexual skills verbally, and try to sound confident, when you just know they are here because they either have no regular girl, or if they have one, they have no idea whether she is satisfied or not.

[4] Is there any use of drugs in sex work?
The reason why most sex workers, especially in Europe end up with no money at all after earning so much is that they use drugs. Drugs are introduced in two paths. The first is that the person already using drugs becomes a sex worker to raise funds to support the habit. The second is that the pimp introduces a young sex worker to drugs so that she is compelled to obey him as he supplies the drugs and she hands over the money she makes to him in exchange. Both these paths are very common. In SADC drugs are not that popular, but some sex workers use them. Other sex workers are drug dealers and sex workers at the same time.

[5] Do sex workers have any other jobs?
Some women do it part time. But once you start earning from sex work, you will notice that it is not worth going to any other job because the earnings are high. In London you can easily earn over GBP 600 per 4 hour day.

[6] Is it possible to have a steady boyfriend and yet one is a sex worker?
In SADC pimps are not that popular though you find men who pimp their girlfriends or wives. This is because the biz is lucrative. There are many men have girlfriends or wives who are sex workers. So yes in Africa, Europe and elsewhere you find many married women who are sex workers. I have worked at boarder posts at Chirundu, Beit Bridge, Plumtree, there were married women who worked with us with the full knowledge of their husbands. In Europe that is common. Some men marry sex workers after meeting them on the job. These remain sex workers after marriage.

[7] Ever experienced any violence from men during your trade?
Violence from the men themselves, from their wives, from other sex workers for taking clients off them, from the pimp of you got one, is common. When I had a pimp in UK, he insisted on being the last one to have sex with me each day. If I tried to refuse, I got threats and he demanded more money from me. It can be very violent.

[8] Condom use-is it possible for a condom to wear off during intercourse?
They do not wear off as such. They can slip off or tear. A condom an easily slip off and remain inside the vagina, requiring to be pulled out with fingers.
It can also burst so that the tip is open and semen flows into the vagina but the condom is still on the penis.

[9] Can a sex worker have more than one session with different clients in one night?
A sex worker has sex at any time of the day, night or day. It is possible to have as many clients as can come. It is not uncommon to have sex with more than 15 men in a day.

The only time you have sex with one man is when on hire. You can be on hire the whole weekend or sometime when the man who hires you is on a business trip. You only have him during the trip.
[10] The femidon or female condom, is it widely used? If not why?
The femidom is better for women. It is stronger and most sex workers wash them and reuse them. This means that the clients can infect each other without affecting the sex worker. That is why I like them. They are a bit more fiddly than the male condom to put in place, and they are a lot more expensive which is why some people reuse them. I always advise young sex workers who may still be negative to use femidoms.

Men’s attitudes to women

In Africa, if you want to insult a boy or a man, you insult his mother or his sister. If you tell any man or boy that you saw his sister or his mother having sex in the local bush with someone of low class or an unauthorised person, you may be the one to bear the brunt of the man’s anger.

Mothers are respected to the highest level, but that is as far as respect for women goes. The same man who thinks his mother is the most revered woman on earth does not in any way shape or form imagine that his children’s mother deserves the same respect. He does not think that other men’s mothers may deserve the same respect. The Southern African woman is only second to the Islamic woman in how badly she is treated by the men.

The stupid thing is that the men’s attitudes towards women are caused by their mothers. The Southern African mother breeds her sons to be the prime enemy to women. Women have total control of their sons during the children’s formative years. They could give the boys any attitude they with them to have, but they choose to steer them towards this path. The reasons are complex but put of it is because the boys are traditionally bred to be the family breadwinners. Having a good attitude to women bred elsewhere may threaten the boy’s willingness to give his mother some money.

Buy the time he gets married, the mother still wants his money and thinks his wife and children deserve less than she does. The wife and mother in law fall out but when the wife has her own boys, she gives them the same attitudes that caused her to suffer. The cycle of poverty of reason goes on.

Then the women started biting back in the form of HIV. For the first time in the culture of Southern Africa, it can be shown that the man is weak, devoid of reason, vulnerable and not that protected by his mother. He can pretend to be all powerful and menacing, but just one sex session with a positive sex worker, whom he can insult, beat up, refuse to pay or even chase out in the middle of the night, can change his whole life, that of his children, and best of all, that of his mother, the woman who gave him his attitudes.

HIV is an equaliser, but it only affects the arrogant man with a bad attitude towards women. Those moderates remain unaffected. Almost all clients will always tell the sex worker the wife does not understand them, meaning, “ I cannot lower myself enough to talk to the mother of my children nicely”

HIV has been a good tool for biting back at the arrogant man. Those who remain will hopefully teach their children respect for women. For the women who die in the process, lets treat it as a worthy crusade, a price worth paying for the folly of those women who breed this kind of men.

Christmas and STI infections

Sex workers always worker much harder in December and January. However, the type of man the get is different. During the year the majority of clients are married men. very few if any single men report to sex workers, and those who do, usually do so thinking they are getting a girlfriend. This is because sex workers tend to look better than other women in that they take care of how they look. Its part of the job.

At Christimas, the number of single men goes up a lot. These are the men who for the rest of the year are in the community with younger single girls.

Should sex workers take part?

A lot of uninformed people think that sex workers should take part in the effort to limit the spread of HIV and other STIs. My own view is that sex workers are not even a factor in the equation. In the SADC region, most sex workers are women who have nothing when they start sex work. They do whatever their clients ask of them. They are not assertive enough to allow themselves other that the assumption of victimhood. By the time they have gathered enough confidence to influence the process, they themselves are HIV positive, and a large number of their clients are also positive.

The only way such a new entrant to the biz would be in a position to control how fast the virus spreads is if there is a school for sex workers, which there will never be such a thing in the SADC region.

What are the incentives to sex workers?
As far as I have found out in 8 years, there is no personal incentive to a sex worker to participate in limiting the spread.
1. She is already positive
2. She has no time to implement any of the requirements without losing income.
3. She will never get recognition from anyone for her efforts.
4. She is not a paid primary health worker
5. Men frown upon her if she seems overly difficult, and would just go to someone else.
6. She would not actually reduce or even limit the actual statistics.

Society understand sex workers and know that they are a high risk group. What society does not understand fully is that the HUSBAND is the link between the high risk group and the at risk group (the wife and children) It is there that all attention should be focussed if any results are to be realised.

Sex workers are not a factor and should be left well alone unless they are going to be given financial incentives. Ironically, the people who waste their time by approaching them for discussion, are usually highly paid academics or primary health carers. It seems unfair that these receive money and the people whgose time they waste receive none.

Stigma: what we have been through.

I will be brief here. HIV positive people are victimised for one reason alone, and that is because the government is reluctant to force compulsory testing and the publication of an HIV national directory.
If this was done, there would be so many of us positive that nobody would feel it necessary to stigmatise anyone. Most of the people who victimise others, are themselves positive. That is FACT.

I personally do not think you should keep silent if you are picked on. If you can afford it, higher some thugs and have the person picking on you sorted out once and for all. Never allow a person, who could be positive himself/herself to victimise you for something that the whole of the the SADC society allows to spread unchecked.

Virginity for ever

Men will always pay more for a virgin. Men view a virgin in the same way as they view a new car or a new suit which nobody else has driven or worn. It pays a sex worker a lot more if she can pass as a virgin. Men have no idea what virginity really is.

It is common practice to use certain mixtures to shrink the vaginal muscles in order to give men an impression of virginity. A sex worker can be a virgin as many times as she wants in one day and each man that has sex with her will not know that she as had thousands more before him. This is because men think virginity is indicated by how tight or loose a vagina is.

There commonest method of achieving the virgin effect is to wash down below with a weak solution of sodium cyanide. This is found in areas where gold mining takes place in Southern Africa. Areas around Johannesburg, Shamva, Mazowe, etc. If you go to any gold mining refuse dump, you will find it fenced off to prevent wild animals or farm animals from drinking water on the dump. That is because it contains cyanide, a quick poison. You will also find holes in the fence where women have gone through to get the sludge in buckets. They take this home and let it settle, leaving clear water on top. The water is then carefully scooped and used to wash the vulva area shortly before sex. It does not matter what stimulation is given, the vagina remains dry.

Dangers:
Cyanide is a poison. If the woman has small cracks in her vaginal walls, she will absorb cyanide into her blood streams and poison herself. She could also poison the man who has sex with her. There is no danger of oral poisoning because African men do not like to give women oral sex.

When I worked in Zimbabwe We used to visit Shamva or Mazowe from Harare to get buckets of the mine refuse. We sold some of it to other girls. The solution is weak but if you use it often, it can damage you. As far as I know, this practice is still going on.

Wives lack understanding of men

I have had wives attacking me because their husbands have paid me money for my services. This is the same as a mother attacking a shopkeeper because her child bought sweets in the shop. It makes no sense to anyone but that is the mentality of a woman who has become a wife.

When I get a client, I treat him as a client. I do not ask his marital status, nor do I care. My services do not depend of his marital status, but more on how much money he will pay me for what I do. I have no relationship with the man. I have no vested interest in any part of him apart from his money. If he gave me his money and walked away with no services I would take the money and bank it. I am not even interested in giving him services. I just do it to get him to give me the money. I am no in competition with this man’s wife for this man.

The man comes to me on his own accord and he pays me voluntarily and he either wears a condom or not as he wishes. As long as he pays me, I have nothing against him. The man knows whether or not he is married. He has a choice of coming to me or going to his wife. I do not influence him in that choice.

So for the wife to attack me is totally out of order. I used to run away and hide, but one day I chose to stand my ground. I asked this woman in Kadoma, Zimbabwe if I was married to her or if she knew me from somewhere. She just wanted to fight me and kept accusing me of having an affair with her husband. I do not do affairs. When she attacked me I made sure she never thought to attack any other sex worker again in her life. She came off worst.

I have had so many attacks in Africa, but never in Europe. European wives understand that the argument is between them and their husbands. If your husband does not get what he needs from you, he will get it from someone else. A sex worker is just incidental to your problems with your husband. She does not add to them or anything. She does not even need to know that they are there. She is simply making a living.

Morality, Ethics and Compassion in sex work.

As a sex worker, my clients and I operate outside the moral code as defined by religion. There is no such thing as morality outside of religion such as Christianity or maybe some sections of Islam. Morality begins and ends with religion. Once outside this boundary, the only limit is the law of the land. There is no law of the land that limits sex work. This means that a sex worker and her clients are free to do anything they please, and indeed they do.

Sex workers do not pay any income tax
Sex workers do not have to insist on wearing condoms
Sex workers are not subject to any trading laws that other businesses are subject to
Sex workers are not usually named in divorce cases as third parties. They remain anonymous
Sex workers have no Guild, professional body or compulsory skills audit or standards commission.
Sex workers do not have to take exams or show anyone any qualifications.

So in essence sex workers have total and absolute freedom of the law and of morality.

Ethics, like the law and morality must be written down. As far as I know there are no professional or incidental or even human ethics governing the work, conduct or practice of a sex worker. All these mean that you cannot approach a sex worker and start telling them to use condoms basing your view on matters moral, legal or ethical, because their business is outside all three.

If you invoke compassion, for example I was forever asked if I should feel sorry for the wives and children of my clients who get HIV after the man has been with me. My view was always that the man knows his family very well, and he does not believe that they should be safe from HIV. Who am I, an outsider, to interfere with that view. If the man thought his wife and children were worthy of freedom from HIV, he would not come to me at all. He would nurture his relationship with his wife, or if she was sexually incapacitated, he would beg me to roll a condom onto him. The fact that he pays me more to agree to have condomless sex means his family are not important. So again compassion does not come into the matter at all. If it did it would come through the man himself.

An HIV positive sex worker has very little to lose compared to a married man with children and whose wife is still young enough to have more children. If compassion was an issue, he would have it towards his wife and children. He doesn't, so it isn't. A sex worker's focus is money and money only.

After all the virus is an intruder in my body. I do not control its activities. I do not own it. I do not want it. It does what it wants to do. Writing a law limiting my activities just because I happen to be host to an independent virus is a bit unfair on me. After all humanity passed the virus to me by force. At least I offer condom to all my clients. Those that refuse are simply expressing a preference for HIV. I cannot be expected to lose income over someone else's decision.

Does the condom actually work in preventing HIV?

The short and most truthful answer is a resounding NO. The use of condoms does not prevent HIV transmission totally. It only reduces the rate of transmission. If a man frequents sex workers and uses condoms all the time, he will eventually catch HIV. Condoms are made in a variety of ways and users are usually unaware of this fact. They just think one condom is as good as the next. They are also made for different reasons such as safety, contraception, reduction of premature ejaculation, fun in sex, etc. When you ask an average man what type of condom he has brought, you often see him show a confused look. Condoms can rip, even when used by experienced users. When one rips, do you catch HIV straight away or not? How many times do you have to have a ripped condom before you can catch HIV? Nobody really knows the answer.

HIV and other STIs is transmitted because men do not like their wives. Condoms were invented to try to make it seem like men are protecting themselves when out there hunting for sex outside the home. Ask any sex worker how many times a condom has burst on them and listen to what they say. It is more common than you think. Now most sex workers prefer to roll on the condom themselves to make sure it is done properly. A man with a hardo is not exactly capable of thinking about anything else and assuming he can correctly roll on a condom is foolish.

In the SADC region, there is an added practice of married men having shared concubines. Most men have another woman they have regular sex with in exchange for groceries and rent for her house. They are not proper commercial sex workers, but they are social sex workers. Each of them usually has other few (three to four) regular men she also gets income from. Men usually do not use condoms with these women. The idea is once you have been having sex with her for a while, you start pretending she has no other men and condoms are no longer used. A concubine like that usually has children and each of the men thinks the child is his so they all pay a voluntary maintenance. If she catches HIV from any of the men, all the others, their wives and their subsequent children will have HIV.

While I was a full time sex worker I had men who preferred to treat me like they treat a concubine. They pay me a portion of their salary at the end of each month, the pay my rent and they pay the shop where I get my groceries. I could have several paying clients during the day, and have a regular man staying for 4 or so hours during the evening. Such men are usually rich businessmen who call their wives on cell phones just before or just after having sex with you.

Wasting time insisting on condoms in such a society is just a waste of money, because the sex workers already have HIV, the concubines will catch HIV, men will necessarily have HIV and the wives almost must catch HIV. In the mean time they also catch other STIs. A wife may never be unfaithful, but she will still catch an STI. It is more dangerous in the SADC region to be married than to be single when it comes to the rate at which people are infected. The number of freely available condoms in the region is not relevant to the equation. The organisation of the society is what needs to be changed before condoms can work. The condom has been a nearly useless quick fix. However, you need to use condoms all the time whether you are married or not. Look carefully at how they should be used.

I have always suggested that the young women who want to get married (stupid thing to do) should undergo a rigorous training programme, paid for by the government, and run by former-sex workers, to give them the sexual skills that they will need to keep the man focussed. The men also need a system of immediate and severe punishment if found to be unfaithful. These would only take one generation before attitudes change. As a former sex worker, I may seem to be talking my fellow sex workers out of a job, because if men do not stray, sex workers cannot work. I think that sex workers could be paid for by governments to do useful social work. The men in prisons, the men in barracks, etc they all need sex.

What is the income in sex work?

Income depends on how you run the biz and where you are. In Zimbabwe I was earning a lot less than my clients, while in the UK I was earning several times more than each of my clients. Being a sex worker in Southern Africa is not that profitable but you do earn more than an average worker. In the UK the first thing you notice is that other girls tell you you need a minder. These are not very good people but they protect you from bad clients. They also take a large proportion of your earnings. On most evenings, my minder whose street name was Stick, was always the last one to have sex with me after I had been working most of the afternoon and evening. The only time he did not do that was when I was booked for the full night.

He tok all the money from me and gave me back around 20%. this would be about 200 Pounds per night. What used to annoy me was that he would know that I had had a tip from a client. He seemed to know everything. He took my tips off me.

When I became more confident, I stopped having a minder, moved to East London from Slough and carried on on my own. The earnings were not much for a while but after about two months I was earning as much as I had been with a minder, for less hours

By the later part of 2003 I was earning at least 6000 Pounds per month easily. I have never paid any form of tax in my life. I also found out that Arabic clients pay a lot more than others. There was a time when I was hired to go with a client to the USA for two weeks. I earned nearly 15000 pounds during that time.

In South Africa you work harder and the clients are much more crude and unrefined, but you can make over 50 000 Rand per month. Also clients recommend each other to you so you can easily have more than ten clients from the same friendship group.

Overall, if you do not use drugs you can save you money very quickly.

I have listened smilingly to some rubbish from men as they justify coming to me to themselves.
I had HIV before I started so disease does not count as a cost in my case.
I have been treated like a queen only to be normal again when I get back to my appartment.

Why the African man is promiscuous:

• An African wife is an accessory, not a person in her own right. So there is no need to be loyal
• Children, to an African man, are not as important as a new vagina on a sex worker. He only wants them as proof of his verility. An African man with children will kill another man over a sex worker without a thought about what will happen to his wife or children, when he could have just waited another half hour for the other man to finish the transaction with the sex worker so he can have his turn. In London the men meet as one is going out and another is coming in, or is waiting in the hall, and no fighting takes place. Africans would have to fight.
• Sex is always described in violent words most of which give the impression that the man is doing something violent to the woman, and the woman is just an incidental victim of it. There are very few used words that describe sex in gentle and soft terms. As a result, sex identifies very easily with violence and you find violence in the home, violence in relationships, etc. In Zimbabwe, the men insist on dry sex, (that is to say if your vagina gets wet during sex, the man thinks you are useless in bed) This has caused women to use all sorts of chemicals to stop themselves from getting wet when excited. A man can send his wife back to her family to be taught manners, if she keeps getting wet during sex. The fear of getting moist is a real fear in Zimbabwe.

When I wanted to kill all men on earth.

In the few days following my very first rape, I was raped several times. The man, being my and my three siblings’ carer threatened me with turning us all onto the street if I refused. After he finished each time, I would be in tears and all he could say was “It was not that bad was it?” and walk out of the room with a smile on his face. He was already HIV positive and very thin. His wife did not look as sick but she was. They both were dead within two years of my rape.

From the first day, my instinct was to kill every man I came across. I became very angry with men for a long while after that day. However, I soon discovered that I had no choice but to treat men nicely. I ran away from home after maybe six rapes. I found myself in Harare where I could not go to the houses of anyone I knew in case they send me back to being raped. I decided to make my own way. I slept behind a petrol station and fed on bread and thrown away fruit the first three days. I did not have a wash because I had no soap or towel or anything. I just washed my face with water. All my belongings were is a small overnight bag. I was sitting on this bag at the petrol station, on the early evening of the fourth day, when a man driving a big Mercedes car on his way from work spotted me and spoke to me. I smiled and answered him back. He stopped and we exchanged a few more words. I agreed to go in his car and by the end of the evening I had had sex with him with a condom that he carried in his pocket, I had been fed well, and I had enough money to last me a week. I also had been moved into a room in one of his properties. I had a form rubber mattress and two blankets. When I look back now, that is the evening I discovered that sex pays money. The man listened to me and was very sympathetic to my plight, but he still wanted sex, and lots of it with me. I was 18 and he was in his late fifties. I later found out that he had children older than me. I met his wife and his children when they came to collect rent from the tenants.

My hatred for men continued for a few years, and only subsided when I had some counselling in England around 2003 after I found out I was positive. I had been carrying so much hate for men for over four years. I also had depended on men for my income for that long.

In the UK it was mostly black men who refused to use condoms. The rest of the races were always ready to use them. Some even brought their own condoms, in case I did not have any. Everyone was offered condoms.

There were a number of burst condoms in the early years, but these reduced as time went on.

Age range of men overall = 25- 65
About 9 in 10 men were married and the wives available at home nearby or in the same town. I have often wondered why a married man leaves his free wife in the house, who presumably married him because she is willing to have as much sex with him as possible, and he goes out to pay a sex worker to do what he can have for free at any time he wants. He also uses family money to which she is entitled to 50%. I have often wondered why societies condemn sex workers for the actions of the married man. Why do they not condemn the married woman for her inaction.

As a sex worker, I never actively advertised my trade to anyone. I only told the men that they had to pay after they approached me for sex. If societies were logical, they would understand that if they consider this to be an undesirable trade, then they should stop their husbands, brothers, sons, fathers, etc coming to us. If they come, we will earn our money and provide a service.

I can not sit here and honestly say 10 000-35 000 men in seven years were wrong. That is a large number of men. Many of these were in honourable professions and leaders in their communities, teachers, community leaders, doctors, lawyers, judges, grave diggers, drivers, businessmen, priests, church workers, etc. People from all walks of life use sex workers.

Sex Work and rapes in the SADC region

From my experience, the number of sex workers in the region is increasing. This is more so because of ladies from Zimbabwe moving into other countries. It is clear to anyone what is going on with new Zimbabwe arrivals in Windhoik, Gaborone, Francistown. Joburg, Cape Town Durban, Lusaka, Blantyre, Nairobi, etc.

In addition, the rates of rape seem to remain very high and if you are arrested for working in the streets, you can be sure to have sex with three or more police officers before you are released. This is the norm in all the countries I have been arrested in, South Africa, Botswana, Zimbabwe.

I was raped at age 18 by a man with HIV. I did not know then that I had been infected. Him and his wife died within 18 months of the rape.

I was already working in the sex trade and continued to do so till I was nearly 26. During that time I had sex with or without a condom depending on the men's preference. I found black men more resistant to condoms. In my live, I have been with maybe 20 -30 men per week for nearly 8 years. That is 8320 -12480 men in total. Each of these could have chosen to risk HIV or other STIs. Although I have always offered condoms to men, I did not turn them down if they refused. The job of a sex worker is to earn money. No sex worker I ever knew could give back the money and let the client go because of condoms.

I currently live with my partner who is also positive. We have become faithful to each other on and off. When we do have sex with others, we know who has done what and with whom. We are both on ARV treatment.

HIV Epidemic in Southern Africa.

I feel that governments in Southern Africa have not fully understood the impact of HIV on such as Training costs, Economy, taxation, medical costs, family structure, etc. This epidemic was very easy to stop and still is but nobody wants to be seen to be doing anything about it.

A reasonable government should introduce compulsory testing for all citizens and those who choose to visit the country. each should then get either a green card for negative or a red card for positive. All red card holders can then occupy a certain part of the country while the green card holders occupy another. The Red card holder should not be allowed to reproduce. Only the green card holders can reproduce.

If it found the people with mismatching cards had sex between them, then both get punished but the Green card holder gets more punishment because he/she has something to lose and should not take the risk.

Seeing that in Zimbabwe for example, the number of HIV positive people is very high, The economy will not be affected at all. The HIV town will just run smoothly by HIV positive people.

Before anyone can marry, they must satisfy the registrar that they are both negative or both positive and sterilised.

All green card holders must be tested once every 6 months and rellocated as necessary. The data is then published in a National HIV Negative directory which is dated and valid only for six months. If you fancy a boy/man/girl/woman, you would be required by law to first check that their name appears on the list and that the directory used is less than six month old.

This scheme would please a lot of women in the SADC region seeing that it is men who spread the virus through promiscuity. Working as a sex worker for many years, I found that most clients were married. Most did not just visit me, but visited other sex workers as well, so if they did not get the virus from me they would get it from someone else. A much higher proportion of sex workers in the region are positive campared to the general public. Also most black men hate condoms, even when the condoms are freely available.

The government should give financial incentives for young people who marry early for example whan they are at university or college. They can then start serving up for their house. If one of the couple should test positive after receiving money, then they must pay it back.

All pregnant women and newly born babies must be tested and recorded.

Those who develop full blown AIDS should be cared for in terms of food and other supplies to manage their pain, but should not be given ARV treatment. I have been on ARV treament for seven years and you cannot tell that I have the virus. Left to their own divices, the men will continue having sex even in the protected towns. Without ARV that group will be the last to be infected.

The result would be that the men stop going with sex workers or other women.
This with HIV would stop visiting the country
The use of condoms would go up.

Within 8-9 years there would be no HIV in the country.
The cost of the scheme would be a lot less than the cost of the deaths of 4000 per week in Zimbabwe added to the cost of training replacements for those who have died,

This scheme would force each and every citizen to take direct responsibility for their sexual safety, and not leave it to chance as they do now. With that everyone over the age of 15 for boys and 14 for girls would be required by law to go and collect a free pack of condoms every week. If you are found at any time without a ready supply of condoms on your person, you would be subject to a fine.

Rapists would automatically qualify for a sex change operation, to make sure they can never infect anyone again.

That is what a responsible government should be doing.
But instead we have (Zimbabwe)
4000 deaths per week
56% of the army and police infected
35% of the teachers infected
23%-25% of the whole population infected

Lesotho and Swaziland and Botswana are a lot worse.
